Who we are

The British Hindu Report ("BHR", "we", "us") is a research project of Yog Foundation (registered charity no. 1185740, Mandir The Lotus Centre, Perry Street, Bromley, Kent, BR7 6HA), delivered by a team of volunteers. Yog Foundation is the data controller for information collected through the BHR survey. For any question about this notice or how your information is handled, contact info@britishhindureport.org.uk.

Why we collect your information

This survey is being conducted to better understand the experiences, views and priorities of British Hindus. Responses will be used for research, statistical analysis and reporting.

Information we collect

The survey may collect demographic information and special category personal data, including information relating to your ethnicity, religious beliefs and political opinions.

Your name and/or email address may also be collected for quality control purposes.

Our lawful basis

We process the information you voluntarily provide on the basis of your consent. Where special category personal data is collected, we rely on your explicit consent.

How your information will be used

Survey responses will only be used for research, analysis and reporting. Results will be presented in a way that does not identify individual respondents.

Your information will not be sold or used for direct marketing purposes.

Your responses will not be used to profile or target individuals, and individual responses will not be shared with any political party, campaign or advocacy organisation.

How long we keep your information

Names and/or email addresses collected for quality control purposes will be stored securely and deleted within 18 months.

Survey data will be retained only for as long as necessary for the research, analysis and reporting purposes of the British Hindu Report and will subsequently be securely deleted or fully anonymised.

Data security and sharing

Information will be stored securely and access will be restricted to authorised individuals involved in the survey, analysis and reporting. The survey is administered using Jotform, a trusted third-party survey and hosting provider, with your responses stored on Jotform's servers in the EU (Germany). Jotform processes this information solely to administer and support the survey, subject to appropriate data protection arrangements.

Partner organisations that help share the survey link do not have access to any survey responses.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you may have rights including access to your personal data, correction or deletion of your information, restriction of processing and withdrawal of consent.

Where survey responses cannot be linked back to you, it may not be possible to identify or remove an individual response after submission.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting: info@britishhindureport.org.uk

You also have the right to raise a concern with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how your personal information has been handled.
